Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort Names Maria Jose Norero as Marketing Director
PRESS RELEASE: LAS VEGAS (February 8, 2013) ? Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort (LVSSR) announces that it has selected Maria Jose Norero as its marketing director. Norero will direct LVSSR?s sales initiative, develop and manage marketing partnerships, and oversee special events, advertising, social media and public relations.
Reporting directly to Kevin Stickelman, LVSSR?s president and general manager, Norero will also manage LVSSR?s marketing and sales teams. She will work closely with Stickelman to develop the marketing plan for the resort?s $35 million expansion project that is currently underway.
Norero, who grew up in Las Vegas, most recently worked in marketing for Eaglecrest Ski Area in Juneau, Alaska. Her successes included spearheading a non-skier outreach program that resulted in a 70 percent increase in the area?s ?learn-to? programs, tripling its social media community and devising a more effective traditional media plan that drove sales.
Prior to her tenure at Eaglecrest, Norero gained valuable experience working with organizations, including Capital Community Broadcasting and the Juneau Economic Development Council.
Norero earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Ill. Fluent in Spanish, she also participated in international honors programs abroad and was awarded a grant from the Fulbright Commission to study race relations in Ecuador. She is an avid outdoor enthusiast and enjoys skiing, camping, kayaking, hiking and fishing.
